Volunteers

What are we looking for in our volunteers?

​

Skilled Volunteers: Individuals who can share their expertise and knowledge in Graphic Designers, OT, SLP, ABA, Teachers, Educators, Translators, Lawyers, Accountants, HR professionals, Grant Writers, Content Creators, Marketing Professionals, Photographers/Videographers, Web developers

​

Youth Volunteers: Help at events, create social media content, organize supplies, collect sensory items for donations, make thank you cards for donors, assist with fundraising campaigns, assist at community events.

​

Corporate/Team Volunteers: Teams can assist by fundraising and assembling Sensory Care Kits, packaging fundraising materials, prepare walk swag bags, install Communication Boards, help organize donated supplies, help at a community event.

We have opportunities in the following areas:
 

  • Marketing & Communications: Social media content creation, Photography, Graphic Design, Newsletter Creator/Editor
     

  • Fundraising & Events: Fundraising Coordination, Event Organization/Execution, Silent Auction Committee, Sponsorship/Donor Outreach, Vendor Booth Coordinator
     

  • Project Assistance: Research, Grant Research Assistant, Project Coordination, Project Administration
     

  • Community Outreach: School Outreach Ambassadors, Community Event Representatives, Info Booth, Parent Ambassador
     

  • Administration: Board Committee Support
     

  • Programs and Education: Care Kit assembly, Deliver sensory kits/sensory paths, Help install Sensory Paths/Communication Boards, Quality Assurance Checks, Resource Development

Fundraise

Organize a fundraising event to support our mission. Every dollar raised goes towards providing essential resources and programs for individuals with autism. Your efforts can help build a more supportive and understanding community. 

​

Another idea? Join an event like our Annual Walk and create your own team and fundraise for a great cause!​

Sensory Care Kits Fundraiser & Kit Assembly Event

Fundraise as a team, then create sensory kits from your fundraiser!

​

Here’s how:

​

  1. Consider creating a team with your work colleagues and fundraise for a certain amount of time or with a goal in mind, example $500 goal. 

  2. When you've reached your fundraising goal, connect with Dylan's Roar and we'll purchase the items for the Sensory Care Kits. We'll then come to your team for a 2 hour event where your team will assemble the Care Kits at your office. It's great team building and fun!

Corporate/Team Volunteering

Volunteer with your team in one of the following ways:

  • Sensory Care Kits Assembly: Gathering and packing items like fidget toys, weighted items, noise-canceling headphones, and sunglasses to soothe kids experiencing sensory overload.
     

  • Sensory Paths Installation: Helping design and apply vibrant, active paths in local schools to give kids a structured way to take movement breaks.
     

  • Community Communication Board Sponsorship & Install: Promoting non-verbal play by helping build, paint, or install interactive PECS-based boards in local parks and playgrounds.

​

  • Event Support: Volunteering at our fundraising events, like the annual Dylan's Roar Walk.
     

  • Skills-Based Volunteering: Pro-bono professional support (e.g., marketing, graphic design, legal/accounting, or construction support).

​

  • Sponsor an Award or Scholarship: Donate a set amount to sponsor an award at our annual walk, or scholarship in your business' name.

Help up create sensory kits for schools

Our aim is to supply 10 schools in the Greater Toronto Area with Sensory Care Kits in 2026. These kits include something for all the senses... touch, smell, feel, see, and hear! Sensory Care Kits are a great resources for students who might be having sensory overload. An item from the kits might help soothe and calm the student and help them feel better in a stressful situation.
